I suppose you can’t have it all really can you? The Euro 2004, Wimbledon, summer holidays, good weather…Well apart from the last technicality this last fortnight has been pretty good.
The Euro 2004 tournament has given us quite an un-predictable and exciting turn of events, with Italy and Spain which were firm favourites being knocked out so soon. All eyes now reside on the remaining teams, and I’m sure we’ll be getting many more surprises especially from the Czech Republic and Portugal.
Wimbledon is in full swing! Well, under a bit of rain at the moment, But I’m sure that round the end of the week things will hotten up, and I’m not talking about the latest Russian blondes to play...
Who will prevail? Will it be Sebastien Grosjean, Goran Ivanisevic, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick or Tim Henman’s tournament :)
My guess is that it some apparent nobody will prove us wrong, and will climb the long ladder to short tennis success. Either way, it looks like its going to be exciting, as soon as the sun shines back that is :)
Have you ever stayed up really late and gone through the pile of infomercials that terrestrial and cable channels throw at us? The other day I was watching this ad for Anthony Robbin’s motivational tapes and cassettes…God what a sham I thought.
This guy goes round America doing seminars and makes cd’s to make us better ourselves…Anyways, the other day I found some of his cd’s which will give me an excellent opportunity to check what he’s about and place a critical eye on his product. So keep you eyes peeled for a review in the next weeks.
Music-wise I’ve been mostly getting into the sordid world of bootleg music mashes: Basically the work of talented DJ’s which mix two songs of totally different genre together to create a new masterpiece.
Anyways, after getting hooked on MTV’s Mashed programme, I managed to get my hands on the MTV mash compilation released through K7! Records.
It’s the same label which releases the massively popular DJ kicks series, and it’s truly worth the purchase. I doubt it will be in the shops, but you can get a copy from amazon.co.uk for a tenner.
Also out is the Ministry of sound Acid Jazz compilation which features great chilled tracks to accompany a soulful summer under a ‘lets hope’ basking summer sun.
Now sit back, get that Campari lemonade on ice ready and seriously chill.
