Even though I never seem to celebrate the event, it seems that the world is in costumes celebrating death and all that’s got to do with the opposite of life.
To be quite truthful I’ve never got quite round the concept…I suppose its an excuse to sell pumpkins and fireworks to the masses; I even think it’s a massive ploy created long ago by pumpkin farmer to make us all buy their horrid vegetables, even if it is to bury a candle in them :)
Still, it’s a good excuse to catch a fireworks display, and patronise kids who dare ring your doorbell asking for trick or treats… and to get a few friends together on a week day…
Anyways enough about the dead, what has caught my anger this week was that postal strike royal mail people have somehow managed to concoct; not content with having jobs in a declining public sector company they have to starve London of its mail for little over two weeks.
Not only are they going to lose many contracts to Royal Mail but they will ultimately burry their own graves, as royal mail will have to cut down on its work force to balance lost earnings from these contracts.
Isn’t that the real problem these days? People don’t look as far ahead as they should do. By simply looking after their own individual selves, they not only ruin their chances, but other peoples at the same time…
Matrix revolutions is coming out in 4 days!!!! We will at last know the fate reserved for the human population, Zion, and Neo & friends.
Is neo in a matrix within a matrix within a matrix..?
What is reality?
What is life?
Whatever it is, I’ll be at the premiere on the 5th :)
Also a little anecdote I heard from a lecturer the other day:
In the early days of personal computing IBM decided reluctantly to create personal computers (instead of supercomputers which they thought were the best) and couldn’t get the best processors in the market (Motorola, spark),so they opted for a nearly bankrupt and failing company in Seattle…Intel. Then they looked at putting a operating system and the best makers didn’t want to sell their licences to IBM, so they opted for a little company called Microsoft .
Microsoft didn’t yet have a fully working operating system, so they bought an other company with the money promise from IBM and renamed their operating system as MS Dos…And so was born the IBM personal computer…Precursor to today’s Pc’s.
Treat me baby :)
