Mid January editorial
Hope you had a good time during the winter vacations, and that you are ready for the New Year…Something we’ve seen or heard pretty much throughout January :)

Well regardless welcome to this end of January editorial, brimming full of winter goodness.

January is all about getting back to the usual routine, about getting back to work at 9 am, and catching up with life. Fortunately January sales are here to ease the transition they say…Is it me or do most shops have “sales” stock they bring out especially during the sales? I was going through a few shops, and after battling the crowds eventually noticed that all that most shops had were either un-sellable things, or items you had never seen in the shop since…last years sales!

Still apart from the usual, it’s good to get back to normal routine, even if that means slaving away on exams and coursework for the next week or so.

And on the subject of normal routines, I though it would be nice to run through a few cool bands I’ve been listening to during the winter holidays, which I’m sure will keep those winter blues away.

First up are Mylo, with their debut album “ Destroy Rock & Roll “. Reminiscent of Pepe Deluxe or some really laid back lounge or house at times; in all chilled out mix of sweet tunes that will colour your day. With their debut album it really looks like they have a really good mix of different songs, who all sound original. Well polished!

Then we have Athlete, with their album “ Vehicles & Animals”, and soon to be released “Tourist” are a very un-pretentious band playing out great relaxed tunes. They are quite difficult to describe as they don’t really sound like anything else, but incorporate lots of small influences from many bands.

Not forgetting U2 here, with their latest album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”. Still the same great stuff from the guys who brought great classics like ‘The Joshua Tree’ and ‘Achtung Baby’. Great songs, empowering lyrics and a most of all still the same winning recipe.

And to finish off things nicely, we have Hed Kandi: Winter Mix 2004. A nice compilation all mixed to recreate the dynamism of the live Kandi experience apparently…Well if you’re into ambiant house music you’ll love this, as it has a bit more originality than the ministry of sound series with less mainstream tracks.

Now for all the clubbers out there there’s a new website called “Topclubs.net”, its full of club reviews, pictures and guides covering London, Paris, Moscow etc.
Check it out and party out!

Until next time, have a great winter!
